Post Type: Blog-Related (Update)
What I was doin'
Here's to me posting from time to time here, too! And to some of my future plans of my own making... (aside from the Blog, that is)
I had to prioritize, for a while, working with various devs on game projects (to make a living). Difficult to exist in this current economy otherwise. I'm doing relatively fine at that now, and in the near future I may update here, too, on what projects specifically I'm currently working on (basically plug the Devs that I'm working with). At least those that already have released builds of their projects (since those you can actually already check out).
For some news:
I've become a Shill? (DLsite-related stuff)
New Executive Order: no more Red&Blue pills
As you can see on the left-side of my wonderful (at least well-worked-on) blog, we now have some new widgets linking to DLsite. Yes, I decided to finally sell my soul... In fairness, I was already recommending games through my Reviews, so I was already in the business of shaping public opinion on products. Might as well possibly get something from Big Company for it.
On that point, I've so far implemented widgets for the genre most prevalent (by design) on my blog, Femdom, both for Newest products and for Popular products. Below them, I have widgets for the Circle groups that I prefer most, and that still currently release games, in case you wanna check out any new products from them, when they arrive. A few of them already have released something new, like Excessm, or have a WIP project, like RR Research Society. So, if you wanna buy anything after reading my reviews, you could click one of those links, as a small passive thank-you to me, too! :D
Yes, indeed all the titles there are in Japanese. You will have to use Google Translate to understand what they say. Them's the breaks, but at least we've got the tools to work around the language barriers.
However, the shilling doesn't stop there! In fact, I also decided to make a Twitter account (ain't no fking shot I'm ever calling it X, suck it Musk), where I may recommend newer DLsite games, or those that I'm currently focusing on (and which may, in the future, also get their own Reviews on my blog!). Again, as part of being an affiliate, so that 1 unfortunate soul may decide to purchase a product through my links. One can only hope. If you want to pray with me, too (or check what I may post on Xitter), [here]'s the link.
Finally, on the topic of wringing money from DLsite, I recently stumbled upon DLchannel, which is their attempt at a Forum service of a sort, mostly focused on Reviews, tops or relevant articles on DLsite products. They may even be able to pay creators of such articles (via DLsite points, still a decent thing!). As such, I made an account, and I may post there too from time to time, though for the time being I'm porting some of my Blog posts on DLsite products there, and adapting them a bit (such as using some of their functions to link directly to those products and parts of their description). Check it out [here] if curious, and leave a like or two if you feel like supporting my endeavor there, too! You may also find some useful summaries on that site, if you search hard enough, with Google Translate turned on.
New Executive Order: no more Red&Blue pills
I'm aware I haven't posted in a while. I was thinking on how to make the process of posting easier on my end, so that I may sneak in some blog post in between my work for the projects I'm helping with. Aside from trying to make the posts shorter, as much as possible for me (some games, though, do deserve more attention in certain aspects), I realized that I could write a lot faster by giving up on the Blue&Red coloring for the text.
I did explain this in the past, but I had started doing this in an attempt to be able to both have my cake and eat it, to both have objective information in my Reviews and my own subjective remarks and quips. I was inspired, partly, in this style, by reading Cracked.com articles in the past (which also inspired me to have small sentences below each picture). And I thought that I could 1-up this idea by also color-coding my objective & subjective remarks accordingly.
In practice, it was a bit superfluous. At times, it lead to me literally forcing myself to throw a quip or two just to break up a sea of blue lines, or simply having full subjective section red-colored. Also, changing the colors was annoying to keep doing, even after I quickly coded myself a macro in Autohotkey for it. I still had to check that the proper color shades were used (since the macro sometimes selected the wrong shade). All-in-all, I'd be better off simply writing all in black (like here), and just making it known through my the content of the text itself whether something's subjective or not.
